Tokujin Yoshioka: THE MAN

A Japanese master of minimalism, I recently came upon some of Yoshioka's works. It's breathtaking. The time and creativity that this man has is something that I cannot begin to grasp.

First there's the Rainbow Church:

It's an 80 ft wall of crystal prisms that are designed to reflect rainbows. It will be showcased in South Korea later this year. This man created THAT, and now only that, but he's also created what drew me to him initially...  Waterfall, the largest glass table created from optical glass that's used to make the most powerful of telescopes.

According to FastCompany.com, the table was inspired by water running down a sheer wall. It's essentially a single slab of glass that has been polished to bring out each ripple.

The winner of best designer by Design Miami, he's making it seem like Museum.beyond museum is a stop that I'm going to have to take in South Korea as well!

Apparently, in Japan, people are looking to date by blood type. I would love to infer things from people based on the type of blood that runs through their veins. (Thanks BBC!)

The idea that blood type may govern personality, passions, and attitudes seems superstitious and of the past 500 years but at the same time, I totally get it.

Decisive and confident - that is people with type O.

ABs are well balanced, clear-sighted and logical, but also high-maintenance and distant.

The black sheep though seem to be blood group B - flamboyant free-thinkers, but selfish."

There's a perceived prejudice against the Bs and... I feel like I'm going to have to do some investigating to see if this is true. 


...Speaking of blood, this is has no relation to any of the above post, but while I was driving yesterday - I saw a sticker over the back brake light of a car that said, "Covered in the blood of Jesus Christ" and I found it to be rather horrifying. Who wants to be COVERED in blood? Goodness!

Apparently some people really can sleep less

According to this article in the NYTIMES, a gene was discovered that unlocks why some people only need 6 hours of sleep while the majority of people need 8 to 8.5 hours of sleep. They say that people who do normally sleep less do so with the help of alarm clocks and stimulants like caffeine, and what I think... crack.

The gene mutation is rare. Out of 70 families tested, only 1 was found to have the gene. The scientists hypothesize that this gene probably covers less than 5% of the population. If you line this up with the rich moguls and owners of conglomerates around the world, I think this probably makes sense. People who have found success really do have more hours in the day to work with!

As I recall from Diddy's recent show on looking for an assistant, he would often say, in reference to those weaker, in need of sleep - "What rhymes with tired? FIRED." Wise words, indeed.

Needless to say, I will not be working for the D- the I- the D- the D - the Y......

Headlines worth reading: 60 foot penis found on roof!

Thank you, BBC for showing me the lighter side of life. I'll quote this article word-for-word as it's less than 100 words long.

"An 18-year-old has secretly painted a 60ft drawing of a phallus on the roof of his parents' £1million mansion in Berkshire. It was there for a year before his parents found out. They say he'll have to scrub it off when he gets back from travelling."

I wondered of quite a few things when I read this article. First, I thought about how obnoxious the British are when they are spelling traveling. Two Ls? Really. Is that necessary?

Then, I wondered if the 60 ft penis has devalued their million pound property. Not that the weakened British pound hasn't naturally diminished the house in the world market, but then what hasn't diminished in value, other than the Chinese Yuan?

Why is BBC telling is the length of the penis in feet? Doesn't everyone but the USA use meters but us?

... and lastly, when he scrubs it off, it will surely be the longest handjob given to a 60ft cock. :-D HEE
