The Sunday Morning Friend

Let me introduce to you the concept of the Sunday Morning Friend. You actually know the Sunday Morning Friend already. To her, you're her best friend. To you, unbeknownst to her, she's reserved for Sunday morning exercise.

The Sunday Morning Friend is a girl or boy that you don't mind being friends with. Minorly exciting, constantly present, and always interested, the existence of the Sunday Morning Friend highlights your strengths. The classification originates from the idea that you don't mind spending time with her - but not anytime during the week when you could be making plans with someone else.

When a Sunday Morning Friend asks me to hang out, this is what I see in my planner. Take a look at how I arrange my week:

Monday-Wednesday: Recovering from going to work for 8 hours a day. Pass out upon reaching le casa.
Thursday night: The New Friday. I can only be anti-social for so long before going crazy.
Friday night? BUSY: drinking, hanging out with hotties, and cruising for dudes, or if it's been a long week, early to bed.
Saturday lunch? BUSY: drinking, catching up with friends from out of town, snack break from shopping
Saturday night? BUSY: wearing recently purchased items from zee mall.
Sunday morning? Hmmm, well, I have been overdoing the food and drink all weekend, I do need to exercise - Yes! Let's totally hang out, Sunday Morning Friend. (But only to work out from the hours of 7:30am to 10:30am....)
Sunday brunch? Make plans with someone other than the Sunday Morning Friend. Sunday Brunch should be cherished.

The Sunday Morning Friend will never be busy on Sunday morning, because frankly, NO one is. Unless you're communing with the Lord, Sunday mornings are usually reserved for zee sleeps.
She'll peel herself out of bed early because she adores you and thinks that you're doing the same thing for her. Actually, you're not. You just aren't willing to sacrifice any OTHER time for the Sunday Morning Friend.

When you're together, you bitch together about your lives. You divulge secrets and complaints that you've felt during the week. You actually get on with your Sunday Morning Friend quite well. You laugh, you exercise together and you bond over the sweat that you're shedding. You've had long weeks and you're dreading returning to work the next morning. But aren't you glad that you could have a chance to hang out? Suuuuuuuuuure.

Be careful when someone suggests that you hang out on Sunday morning. Are you someone's Sunday Morning Friend? Force the issue. Suggest brunch and make a freakin' reservation. No one deserves to be the Sunday Morning Friend! What about Tuesday? Anything not to be the Sunday Morning Friend!

Sunday Mornings, my friend, are best for dim sum. That's why it's called Dim Sum Sundays!

So cute! Evian water tastes better than other water, don't even try to argue with me.

(114/365) Borgata!

The Murano glass sculpture in the main lobby of the Borgata in Atlantic City! We stayed at the Water Club at the Borgata!

(113/365) Giant Clams!

Combined with wasabi and soy sauce! We ate them at Resort where the resto was opened just for us!

(112/365) Solidarity

Ebony and ivory living in perfect harmony! ...and wearing the same blue shirt. Work place love.

(111/365) Fondue Favorites

The best part of the Melting Pot, Girls Night edition. I've decided that I don't like fondue. Chocolate = makes anything better.

(110/365) The Bib Necklace

My necklaces for spring. I'm ready for some warm weather so I can pair all these necklaces with white Ts.

(109/365) Bollywood Babes

I found these lovely ladies at an Indian restaurant.

Poker Face

Tired of that good ol' Washington on the dollar bill? Craig Gleason's GAGA bills are amazing. If someone paid me in a Gaga bill, I would pass out. Too bad he's actually charging money for his money. I would be interested to see where these could circulate to, if given the opportunity.

Is this blurry or is it just me? Too much work! Not enough blogging!

Take a trip with me!

Am I tripping?

GO ADRIAN!

Remember when you were in college and you thought, whoa, I'd really like to take that internship? Well, my friend is in college and he's trying to get the STA World Travel internship. I'd really like to take that internship!

Please vote for my friend Adrian, he put together this great video on why he should be the World Travel Intern for STA. I mean, it's legitimately good, I was really impressed.

Go HERE to vote. (It's just a click! If you have multiple browsers, vote on each one!) He has less than a week left!

(Ugh!) PleaseVote Vote Vote! (Number 1 has 10k votes and he looks super le douche, some LA hipster who went to school in Norway? The entire 5 minute video is him talking r-e-a-l-l-y slowly about how awesome he is... VOM.)

GO ADRIAN! Let me live vicariously through you. Just for now. Hopefully I'll be doing cool stuff soon!

Cupcake Chronicles

These cupcakes were too pretty not to post more pictures. Miniature cupcakes = 10x cuter than regular cupcakes. AND I get to feature the new plates from Anthropologie that I spotted in store at Christmas, which are now on sale. All I had to do was wait three months and $12 became $4.

(108/365) Lazy Sunday

I baked this half mix, half scratch. I found a mix and I had to use it. The icing I mixed myself.

I am quite proud of this baby cupcake. Small, cute, packed with fun and beautiful to look at. Only the best for my precious (co-workers). I baked 60+ of these cupcakes, I decorated 47 of them.

(107/365) Free Annies!

This was FREE! I walked up to the register, they handed me one and told me to walk. I didn't understand, but then I ate the shit out of this sugar cinnamon pretzel. I can still stand by my statement that I've never bought a delicious Annie's pretz.

A Grammar Point: Misused Quotation Marks

While at Chocolatte, I mused to my friend Amy about how I LOVE when public signs have a misuse of quotation marks. More than likely, signs just shouldn't have quotes on them. Then, looking up, to my right, just happened to be a sign that had questionable usage of quotes...Amy and I decided to raid my handbag of random crap and make the sign relevant to our conversation. We decided to make it more questionable. Amy added quotes as I decorated the border with fancy scissors. Deviant activity!

(106/365) Chocolatte

I love the color menu at Chocolatte. I pass this place every day on the way to work, I'm always tempted to pay $4.25 for a Turtle Tracks Latte, but I don't. Until Friday night. TAST-EEE!

(105/365) Bar games

Tired of nuts in your face when you look at my blog?

I went to a bar on Thursday and had an amazing gyro. Instead of putting it up, I'm putting up the fact that I spent a lot of time at this bar, the Thinking Man Tavern, getting my ass kicked in Connect 4.

I had some fun while my friend drank.

(104/365) Wasaaaaaaabi

I eat these all day at work. They are almost gone.  They taste like.. a richer, chewier wasabi pea. I absolutely recommend you get these... and I'm caught up.

(103/365) Astronaut Mike Dexter

Look Liz Lemon. Look who I look at taped onto my monitor. Look who I look at while working everyday.

It's your boyfriend.

(102/365) JUST the tickets

Instead of having these posted in my room, maybe I should practice keeping these handy in my wallet, so I can stop having metro cards with $2 on them. I think the Charlie ticket is the cutest (from Boston!)!
