You're Luggage

Nothing tells me that I'm in Asia like an excessive play of bad 90s movies. This morning, I woke up to Eraser.

My God, the glory of Vanessa Williams before she had to play cougars on TV and Arnold with his accent still pretty much intact.

You know it's the 90s when Arnold is playing an agent gone rogue in protecting V. Williams, and in the process, with one bullet, shoots an alligator tank that holds wildly hungry and aggressive gators who don't hesitate in killing the guys from the other side. He encounters a close call with one who almost chomps down on his leg before BAM, he shoots it in the head with the gun strapped to his ank. "You're lugguge."

The Ginger Fox

Not to be confused with the Silver Fox (who is Anderson Cooper, and this one man at my office who wears pants amazingly well. Gentlemen, please be advised, well fitting pants = the bee's knees!), Prince Harry's imminent arrival stateside to some sort of polo match June 26 in NYC has allowed me to review my thoughts on a well worn comparison of William vs. Harry. Heir vs. Spare.... and obvi as of like.. 2008, William < Harry.

When William went from THIS

 oh la!

to a sad receding THIS

My eyes turned past the heir and settled on the spare. My, my. With that come hither pose, Prince Harry took from William the throne of hotness.

That's some serious rawrrrr. What girl hasn't thought about how awesome it would be to be a royal and to be married to this?

Yeah.. Just forget about that one instance where the Hot Ginger Fox decided to dress up as a Nazi for Halloween (for my purposes, photo not available) and think of only the good times.... when he's wearing blue.

The fact that Harry can hold his own next to the sizzling hotness that is Nacho Figueras.. incredible. Although it may be nice to dream of being a royal, when I look too deeply into Nacho's eyes, I melt. Then, I remember his name is Nacho.

TRAMP STAMP TUESDAY

Because you haven't seen one in so long!

What's the lesson here, Jessica Alba? Even later in life when you want to be taken seriously and you're tickling and googooing at your own baby, when you bend over, all the world will still know you by your tramp stamp.

Answer this question!

AHH!

HOW DOES KIRSTIE ALLEY KEEP GETTING PAID? Let's face it. She's disgusting.

Apparently, she has a new TV show coming up on TLC, on how she's going to lose weight again? I remember watching Veronica's Closet, not turning it off the television, but seriously, who still cares about Kirstie Alley?

Here she is on twitter: http://twitter.com/KIRSTIEalley

I feel like she must have some sort of body image denial, because I'm pretty positive this isn't how she looks anymore!

:( Boo for the sad decline of reality television.

Emmama Love

Emma's back for more Burberry ads! I took these images from Burberry.com!

Emma is beautiful but has the guy in the photos with her started creeping you out yet? One of them is her brother. But which... MORE PHOTOS

After glancing at all the photos, I'd have to say that Emma should keep legs down and covered. But otherwise, she's 100% gaaaaargeous!

Ed Westwick, I still love you!

I lied here. Look at this article and you will see this:

OMG. He is my Salivation. I take back any doubts that I had, I still love Ed dirty Westwick with the disgusting feather tattoo. But really, is he wearing jeans to a wedding?

Thanks usmagazine.com for being trashy and beautiful enough to post this pic.

Jude Law makes me Gaga

Although I haven't seen anything that Jude Law has done in a while, I did love him while the world loved him - remember? When he had like.. 5 movies come out all at once? Alfie, I Heart Huckabees..... Been there. Loved it.

I had no idea that Jude Law could be so funny until he was on Jimmy Fallon. Jimmy does things to people :) I mean, I watch this show because he's awkward and he makes people do weird, young-ish things that I would like to do. But let's go back to the topic at hand. Jude, I feel as though his British accent and a certain timbre of his voice is what really makes the ladies melt for him and pop out so many of his babies.

Even as he was saying that he was bluffin' with his muffin, I was totes into it. MMM, theatrically ridiculous readings made by sexy British men always work on zeee American ladies. or perhaps just me!

P.S. Thanks Vulture.

Sick Love

I love this dress. Damn you, Paris Hilton. I hate myself for loving this dress. I couldn't imagine wearing this dress, but it's incredible. This is the only time Paris Hilton will ever be in my blog. ...unless she wears more Hello Kitty stuff.

FLIP Burger Boutique, a Critique

This is an almost exact post that I posted on yelp.com but you never know where your post will end up on that thing, so I thought I would post it on my blog. I will add more, since you've taken the time to read this.

I had pretty high expectations for Flip, especially after reading all the reviews posted! So many 5 stars! After a conversation with a few friends raving about the place (they said to absolutely try the Nutella milkshake), I lured another one of my friends to go with me, skipping out on a closer Vortex.

The menu was posted online, which was convenient, and from the looks of it, divine. We showed up early at about 11:30 on a Monday and it was not busy at all. The location was not hard to find, although for a second, I was confused on whether or not, I was in carrepairs-ville. Beware, parking is limited.

THE FOOD: I ordered a chorizo burger, and my friend ordered the sirloin. I also ordered the fried pickles and the fries. I won't quote the whole menu, but the choices seem awesome. NOTE: the special is not ANY burger, fries, and a shake for 12, it's the FLIP burger - which, why would you drive all the way to Howell Mill for a run of the mill burger at a specialty gourmet burger store, I just wouldn't understand. Here's how they looked. Drool at your own will.

Warning: Images appear better than they taste. Obvi, you can tell these are food art, but please remember art does not dictate taste.

PRO: I loved the smokey mayo with the fries.
The sauce that went with the chorizo seemed to have a bit of sriracha, which is always a winner.
The portions were JUST right, not too big, not too small. (They were on the small side and STILL, I couldn't finish.) The milkshake was yummy.

In this photo, this milkshake was split in half and looks incredible. I credit this entirely to my food photography and not to its actual taste. Pictured, it looks like a 10, in reality, it was a 5.5. I've had better, waaaaaaaaay better.

CON: The milkshake was yums but it did not taste AT ALL like Nutella. I'm sorry, I eat Nutella with my bananas very often and I know what Nutella tastes like. Where was the hazelnut flavoring? There was no remote essence of Nutella in this milkshake, it wasn't even busy. This was a chocolate milkshake that cost 7 bux. Good but not great enough for the 7 i spent, especially because it did not deliver on the goods.
There was too much heavy spicing on the bread and butter pickles and the ranch was runny - and watered down tasting. I place a lot of judgment on a place based on its ranch, and this ranch was not something to call home about, or come back to.
The chorizo burger was too heavy, as in, it was oily, yet I wasn't sure if it was cooked all the way through, there were cheese SHAVINGs on my burger that amounted to nothing but extra calories and my poached egg was so runny, that it might have ruined my burger all together. Half an hour after lunch, I felt a bit sick to my stomach - not pleasant.
My fries were a little cold, but delicious. Unfortunately, they were not the best fries that I've had
My friend's sirloin burger was not good all the way through for a medium burger, but overall - MEH.

What I ate. I mean, it was a great presentation.

SERVICE: friendly, and amazingly all the waitstaff that I could see was incredibly good looking - I don't know if this helps anyone, but just putting it out there! There was hipster music playing in the background and most of the staff looked like they were out of the the Urban Outfitters, American Apparel crowd. CON: I did seem them drinking like Chick-fil-a cups before it got busy. I guess this shit it too rich for them, bitch.

Overall: For a $20 burger experience, I did not flip out for Flip. Good while I had it, but will not be returning.

PS. For people that don't live in ATL, this is Richard Blais's burger joint, he was on Top Chef.

An Update on Ed Westwick

Maybe it's because I haven't watched Gossip Girl in a few months but, dare I say it, I think my love for Ed Westwick might be fading.

After reading Daily Intel's I Love You, Ed Westwick article, I felt excitement and the need to pass on the word but .... the love that once was, is no more. Can it be possible?

Am I OVER Chuck Bass?

Norma's, Nino's and Seredipity III, Oh My!

Yesterday, on Stephen Colbert's Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert dines and "dashes" on some of the most famous four figure meals in NYC. Colbert "does his part to keep the industry alive."

At Norma's at Le Parker Meridien Hotel, he tastes the Zillion Dollar Lobster Frittata. According to Luxurylaunches.com, "the breakfast dish rolls in six eggs, the tail of a roasted Maine Lobster, 10 ounces of Sevruga caviar, all priced for a $1,000. The caviar used in the Zillion Dollar Frittata supposedly comes from the Caspian Sea sturgeon and retails for $80-$170 an ounce." Doesn't this look like a better way to spend $1k USD than burning it as firewood?

Colbert uses the bathroom run as an excuse to dash on the check.

Then he heads over to Nino's. Nino's Bellissima Pizza has a $1,000 pizza, the Mamma Mia, which is composed of (12") thin crust topped with caviar, lobster, creme fraiche and chives. If that lobster and caviar from breakfast wasn't enough, then you should eat this for lunch! He asks about the pizza, "Does this come with crazy bread? If you think about it, any bread you serve with a $1000 pizza would be crazy." After tasting it, he tells Nino that "this is one of the best 1,000 pizzas that I've ever had....Right up there."

For dessert, Stephen Colbert goes to Serendipity III, like the movie, to finish his food-sploration. He has the Golden Opulence Sundae, costing $1000.
Consisting mostly of 24k gold power, paper 24k gold, and imported chocolate, vanilla, fruits, nuts, all made of money.....then, Stephen Colbert covers his face in gold foil. It is amazing. Please watch the clip.

Ad Attack - Schwepps?!

If you're just looking on, view the previous post of Nicole Kidman's Chanel No. 5 Commercial - then see this one. Shot in India, it features the girl from Slumdog that was allegedly about to be sold and has the same sort of tone as the Chanel commercial - with a twist.

Oh, Nicole. You used to be a spokesperson for a classy, old lady perfume. Now - soda? How the mighty have fallen.

Ad Attack! Chanel No 5

By now you just know I love a good advertisement!

Here is the extended Chanel No. 5 ad that came soon after Moulin Rouge, back when Nicole Kidman wasn't botox'd UP.

Directed by Baz Luhrman, same as Moulin Rouge, featuring Rodrigo Santoro, that hottay from Love Actually - Karl.

Now here is the newest ad from Chanel No. 5 featuring Audrey Tatou! Directed by the same director of Amelie (which I love), Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The man here is Travis Davenport, who is most notably, according to my google search, a model for Polo.

Kind of creepy, but I'm into it. I'd wish for him to sniff me too! Great images of Istanbul too!

Donatella Versace is the stuff of NIGHTMARES

This must be the face of the Beast. I've never been so frightened in my life. From the Met Gala Red Carpet - Donatella Versace in her own design.

I apologize if this photo offends anyone, but I thought it had to be shown. If you took off her head, the rest of the photo would be bearable.

I just fell in girl-love with Kate Winslet, all over again

Kate Winslet is the featured for Lancome's Tresor commercial. To me, this commercial embodies romance. The music swells and captures the sweetness of Winslet's expression. I have love love loved this commercial for quite some time. Enjoy!

R&B hits of Yesteryear

My friends and I were reminiscing of the R&B hits of when R&B started becoming popular and these are a few that I feel like should be shared. They're slightly obscure, but definitely worth enjoying.

Whitney Houston's Heartbreak Hotel feat. Faith Evans and Kelly Price (who is very comfortable in her largess!) This was Whitney Houston's comeback. She's finished with Bobby Brown!! (She later gets back together with Bobby Brown.)

NSFW: Monifah's Touch It. A helicopter drops off Monifah in front of crowd of horny military men who want her. One man bites his fist in order to restrain himself. Monifah is NOT hot enough for these sexy sexy lyrics.

R. Kelly - all songs by R. Kelly are incredible, but this one: Contagious feat. the Isley Brothers is especially important. Plot: Mr. Bigg finds out that his girl has been cheating on him, with R. Kelly. This was definitely a precursor to R. Kelly's hip-hopera. For God's sake, please enjoy the pimp suit, pimp cane that pulls out to be a sword, the chandeliers, indulgent love scenes with R. Kelly's body, and most of all the lyrics. At least listen to the chorus at 1 min 26 secs.

Schiesse always had a sweet place in my heart

Recently on Leno, Ben Affleck recounted how he accidentally taught his 3 year old cute daughter, Violet, the German swear word for shit, despite not speaking German, nor ever having ever been to Germany.

I've never had any particular affinity for Affleck, but this is pretty funny!
