Welcome to the second part of my series, Beggar Basics: making food in rural China with the barest of foods and tools.
Desperate for junk food, I decided to take making chips into my own hands. How hard could it be?
Slice and fry. Then, NOM NOM.
Success. Phoebe can attest how fresh and crisp they were. They looked and tasted like kettle chips. We have one potato left.... Salt and vinegar, garlic and chives, or just plain spicy chips? Oh the possibilities of slow cooking with beggar basics!
